Every move is unique! At Santa Monica Movers, we charge hourly for local moves since every home, staircase, and layout is different. We'll work quickly and carefully to keep your costs low and your experience stress-free—no surprises, just great service.
Your belongings are important to us. We're fully insured and follow California state regulations. Basic coverage is $0.60 per pound per item, and we always recommend using our free moving blankets and plastic wrap for extra protection. We treat your items like our own!

Booking is super easy! Just visit our Reservations Page or give us a quick call. A small reservation deposit secures your spot—no last-minute stress, just confirmed moving day peace of mind.
No problem! Just contact us as soon as you know your new date. We'll happily adjust your reservation. If you've already placed a deposit, you can reschedule or cancel free of charge with at least 72 hours' notice.
California law requires all licensed movers to charge for Double Drive Time — that's simply the travel time between your old and new address, counted twice. Don't worry, the hourly rate stays the same, and we're always upfront about costs.
We provide free plastic wrap, packing tape, and wardrobe boxes for clothes. Additional packing supplies, such as boxes, wrapping paper, bubblewrap are available upon request. Let us know in advance, and we'll make sure our truck is fully stocked with everything you need.
We don't pre-deliver supplies, but don't worry—our trucks always come equipped with boxes, tape, shrink wrap, and everything else you might need on moving day.
We usually recommend emptying dressers for safety, but if the furniture is sturdy and lightweight items are inside, our foreman may give the green light. We'll always make sure it's handled safely either way.
Tipping is never required but always appreciated! If our crew went above and beyond, most customers tip between $20 and $100 per mover, depending on the job size. A smile and a “thank you” go a long way, too!
